The primary difference between the TO Bands and the regular Bodylastics package is the addition of 2 extra bands, each providing 30 lbs. of resistance.

With the Bodylastics TO Bands Super Strong Man Edition, you have access to over 140 different gym exercises for working out every muscle in the body, with nearly limitless room for improvement thanks to the up to 254 pounds of resistance levels achievable with the system.
Train like T.O….Look like T.O.!

The TO Bands don’t just give you the tools to strengthen and tone every muscle in your body, but they come with complete instructions for doing so, in a nearly infinite number of ways. Each muscle group is supported by multiple exercises – from beginner to intermediate to advanced, some using the included door anchor, ankle straps, or additional props like a chair or giant rubber ball.

This allows each individual user to cater their unique TO Bands workout program to their specific needs, circumstances, and abilities.

One of the greatest aspects of the Bodylastics TO Bands system, in fact, is how incredibly easy it is to switch between different resistance levels. This makes it a breeze to work out in pairs or groups using a single set of TO Bands, even if you and your workout partner(s) have different strengths and limitations.

Train like the Pros…Terrell Owens Gym System by Bodylastics

In addition to all that comes with the regular Bodylastics system, the TO Bands Super Strong Man Edition also comes with a special TO travel bag and the Terrell Owens Workout & Diet Guide.

Number 81 himself endorses these versatile, lightweight exercise bands, which he reports is part of his regular training program and is responsible for helping him increase his speed and strength like no other exercise system he’s seen.

Each color-coded band represents a different resistance level (or “weight). Bands come with simple carabiner-style clips on each end for easy and secure attachment to handles, ankle straps, and a door anchor – allowing users to simulate pretty much any weight machine exercise they can do in a typical gym. Use bands by themselves or in combination in order to get just the right resistance level you need for each muscle being exercised.

The 76-page manual included with purchase (and corresponding SBU – Strength Band University – video website to which all TO Bands buyers are granted free access) provides an array of workout options that range in focus from:
• one’s strength and ability level
• to the specific muscle groups one is interested in working out
• to special regimens designed for athletes in certain sports (baseball, golf, tennis, bodybuilding, etc.)
• to programs specifically for toning or strengthening to circuit training workouts that incorporate both

Athletes like Terrel Owens aren’t the only ones using this system. Apparently the U.S. Military and S.W.A.T. team personnel also incorporate the Bodylastics TO Bands in with their training.

The TO Bands Super Strong Man Edition comes with everything included in the regular Bodylastics package, plus:
• 2 extra bands, worth 30 lbs. of extra resistance each
• a special TO travel bag
• the Terrell Owens Workout & Diet Guide.

TO Bands currently run for $99.81.

I have always been a big fan of resistance band workouts. They are flexible, versatile, and most of all they are portable and easy to use anywhere. You can pack them up and take them on the road or use them at the gym. I gained an even greater appreciation of them when I discovered the Bodylastics system because it takes only a very minor investment to create a complete home gym. With Bodylastics, you can perform your workout and then store it away and no one will even know that your humble abode is your workout room.

What do personal trainers use to train themselves? Click here to find out..

You can perform over 140 of the most popular exercises that you might do at the gym with the Bodylastics system. Wow! No wonder they are considered versatile. And the greatest thing is that there are detailed instructions included for men and women of any age or ability.

Bodylastics kits come in three tension weights and are very cost effective. A complete basic tension system that gives up to 44 pounds of resistance per side can be purchased for less than $50.00. That beginning system comes with five resistance bands, handles, ankle straps, door attachment, instruction manual and carrying case. When you have conquered the beginning system, the next Bodylastics kit is considered to be the max tension system. It has the same equipment, but the tension raises to 67 pounds per side. There is one more complete Bodylastics system known as the super strong man. With up to 127 pounds of resistance per side, I can’t imagine that anyone would ever outgrow its capabilities. Even if you purchase all three systems, you will have less than $200.00 invested in your fitness program.

The Bodylastics instruction manual is one of the best around. You can also watch programs on the Internet or purchase a DVD to help you workout.

The Bodylastics system has prepared workouts for your back, arms, chest, abs, legs and shoulders. They show you how to build muscle and tone up or how to prepare for a particular sport. The Bodylastics system is also a good tool when rehabilitating from an injury.

I can’t say enough about the Bodylastics system. I’m hooked. Give it a try – I bet you will get hooked too.

Bodylastics uses elastic tubes that create resistance when they’re stretched. Bowflex uses what it calls a “Compound Resistance System” with power rods that create resistance when they’re bent, like the way an archer pulls back on a bow to fire an arrow. Also like a bow and arrow, the Bowflex power rods are bent not directly by the hands but by a system of cables, wheels, and pulleys to which they’re connected.

The downside of the Bowflex system is the resistance is uneven (whereas you can adjust the level of resistance with the Bodylastics tubes), the fly wheel doesn’t turn smoothly, making for a rough and unsupported feeling while working out (whereas movement and control with the Bodylastics elastic tubes couldn’t be smoother and easier), and the Bowflex machine is big and heavy and takes up lots of space (whereas the Bodylastics sets are none of those things).

Bodylastic vs. Crossbow

Platinum Crossbow also uses power rods like those of the Bowflex system. Therefore all of the differences listed above between Bodylastics and Bowflex apply to this comparison as well. There is no substitute for generating resistance by pulling directly against the source of resistance and not through a series of cables, flywheels, and pulleys.

What sets Bodylastics apart from other home gym systems is that every Bodylastics set includes several key components – the Quick Clip System, a Door Anchor, the Elastic Tubes, and heavy-duty Handles and Ankle Straps) that in conjunction with one another, can be used to duplicate some o f the most powerful and effective exercises you can accomplish in the best of health clubs.

Quick Clip System: Attached to the end of each Bodylastics 4′ foot elastic bands is a clip that is as secure as it is easy to use. With this Quick Clip System, you can quickly and easily add or remove bands to create heavier or lighter resistance loads, respectively. As such, you are able to challenge each of your muscle groups at its ideal level with under- or over-taxing it.

Door Anchor: This component of the Bodylastics system allows you to attach your bands to any door that has ability to close completely. Whether it’s a closet door, the door to a room, or the front door to your home, you can emulate all of the best workout machine exercises simply by hooking the door anchor to any door and shutting it all the way.

11 inches in length and made of soft foam and nylon webbing, the Bodylastics door anchor is safe for use on all doors. It will not do any harm to your door or door frame. Standing exercises, sitting exercises, laying down exercises – you can accomplish all of them with this versatile door anchor that, once properly placed, is designed to remain safely secure in position.

Elastic Tubes: The adjustable and smooth Bodylastic bands make optimal use of elastic resistance to achieve innumerable and incomparable benefits in the way your body looks and feels.

As opposed to flat exercise bands which are less effective and easier to snap, Bodylastics uses elastic tubes, each one 4′ in length and varying in thickness in order to create different degrees of resistance. The Bodylastics fitness tubes are all made of the highest quality latex rubber and built with a fully snap-resistant design.

Further, in order to make it as easy as can be to use Bodylastics, the elastic bands are color coded, each color representing a different level of tension. Changing the level of resistance is really just as simple as clip one or more additional tubes onto or off of the ankle straps or handles you’re using. Combining the elastic bands so, you get 15 different levels of resistance in the Basic set and 31 different resistance levels available in the Max Tension set.

Handles & Ankle Straps: With both handles and ankle straps included, you are able to work out all parts of both your upper and lower body. And both the handles and ankle straps are built to be as soft and comfortable to the touch as they are easy to grip as they are safe, sturdy, durable, and reliable.

Why is Bodylastics so much more effective than everything else on the market?

The Bodylastics is unique, unequaled in design, combining certain key components in just the right way to give users an all-purpose, multidimensional workout. The door anchor allows you to recreate all of their favorite gym exercises wherever you go. The clip system makes the bands scalable for working out each muscle and muscle group at its ideal weight/resistance.

How long before I start to notice results?

You have to give yourself a minimum of about a month before expecting to feel and see any marked improvements in your build and your strength.

How does using these elastic bands compare to using free weights?

Your muscle don’t know the difference between free weights and elastic bands and weight lifting machines. It only knows the resistance it’s working against. The source of the resistance is irrelevant to the body’s muscles. So that point being equal, what other criteria distinguish one from the other? Cost, portability, safety: in all of these areas, Bodylastic bands have an edge over the others. Additionally, the more you stretch Bodylastsic bands, the more difficult they get to stretch, which has the added benefit of placing additional stress on your muscles at just the right time for it to have the greatest effect.

Is Bodylastics durable?

The Bodylastics equipment – from the bands to the clips to the door hook – have undergone 8 full years of testing and retooling to get to the product offered on the market today. Part of the strength and durability of the Bodylastics bands comes from the top quality latex they’re made of. Also, the clips use a carefully designed fastening method that places as little stress on the bands as possible.

What’s the difference between the Bodylastics Basic Tension set and the Bodylastics Max Tension set?

The Basic Tension set offers 15 degrees of resistance and includes: 1 5-6 lb. yellow band; 1 7.5-8.5 lb green band; 1 10.5 -12 lb red band; 1 15-18 lb blue band; 2 foam covered handles; 2 ankle straps; 1 door anchor; 1 user manual; 1 travel bag. The Max Tension set offers 31 degrees of resistance and includes: everything in the Basic Tension set plus 1 20+ lb black band.

How long will my Bodylastics set last?

Like sneakers (tennis shoes, running shoes, etc.), Bodylastics are made of rubber, and as such have a lifespan very much dependent on the intensity of their use. If you use your Bodylastics set daily and are very hard on them when you use them, you might start to see some wear after 6 months. Other Bodylastics customers, however, are still enjoying regular use of their original set after 3 or 4 years. But there’s also the huge consolation that if you do snap one of your bands, you don’t have to buy a whole new set. You can buy individual bands, clips, and door hooks all separately as you need them.

In part one of our full Bodylastics workouts article we touched on strength training and building muscle benefits of Bodylastics fitness bands. Now we will take a look at how Bodylastics can aid in body toning and even rehabilitation of injuries.

Body Toning
Another exercise objective that is best achieved in combination with an improvement in diet, toning your body is as easy and effective using Bodylastics Exercise Bands as muscle building. In the case of body toning, however, the dietary change is different: in this case being an increase in fruits and vegetables, and an overall shift away from heavily processed (packaged) foods and towards more natural foods.

Body toning will also best be achieved if you include cardiovascular exercise in with your workout regimen, giving your body an aerobic workout 3 to 4 times each week. Beyond that, use your Bodylastics exercise tubes around 2 times a week to give yourself a full body workout, choosing 6-8 exercises that each focus on some part of your body from head-to-toe. Perform multiple sets of each exercise with a high amount of reps (15-20 each set). Don’t worry too much about clipping on too much weight. For body toning, go for more sets, more reps, less weight.

Rehabilitation

The Bodylastics system can also have great benefits in rehabilitating from an injury, providing a gentle way for a person to rebuild strength and muscle tone slowly and safely in a healing muscle or limb. Bodylastics elastic resistance system is gentle on the body. Resistance can be set as low as needed, and increased in increments as small and gradual as needed to safely and healthily rebuild a once-injured area.

The Bodylastics system gives you the freedom to perform more than 140 exercises, working out every part of your body: legs, arms, shoulders, chest, abs, and back. In this article, you’ll discover how Bodylastics can be used to accomplish all sorts of workout objectives.

Strength Training

Developed by a professional bodybuilder, Bodylastics is a powerful tool for strength training as it targets and isolates individual muscle groups, and prevents surrounding supporting muscle groups from providing unwanted assistance, thereby enabling you to achieve the most effective results possible. When using Bodylastics to build strength, do fewer sets and fewer reps of a heavier weight.

Building Muscle

The Bodylastics Exercise Bands help you build muscle more efficient than any other workout method. For one, every great muscle building exercise can be performed with the Bodylastics elastic tubes. For the best results using Bodylastics for building muscle, do fewer sets of each exercise with fewer reps, but clip on as much weight as you can safely handle.

One important factor in maximizing the muscle building benefits of using Bodylastics elastics bands is to incorporate a dietary change into your lifestyle. When trying to build muscle, a slow and steady process by any measure, you can help it along tremendously by increasing the amount of calories, especially in the form of proteins, in your diet.

Bodylastics not only provides you with a great upper body workout, but you may also complete lower body exercises with the Bodylastics fitness bands.

Lower Body:

Replicate squatting exercise by position the Bodylastic elastic tubes beneath your feet then squatting down and gripping the handles at the level of your shoulders. As you slowly begin to stand erect, your leg muscles will feel the resistance caused by your whole body pushing up against the tension of the bands.

Taking out the door anchor again, this time position it beneath a door that, once again, can be shut completely. Next attach the Bodylastic band or bands you’ll be using to your ankle straps then fitting your ankles into the straps. From here you have a number of options.

You can exercise your hamstrings by lying down on your stomach with your head facing into the room, feet by the door, and beginning to slowly and deliberately curl your legs up towards your buttocks.

The frontal muscles of your legs you can also work out with the door anchor in this position by simply standing facing your door and lifting your legs, one at a time obviously, in an angle to the back and side. For extra support, you can put a chair in front of you to hold onto in order to better maintain your balance.

There are more than 140 different exercises you can perform with the Bodylastics system. To get a quick start using the simple equipment, however, you need only follow the simple guidelines below for basic upper body and lower body exercises then take it from there.

Upper Body:

For upper body exercise, place the door anchor over the upper edge of door that can be completely closed or some other comparable location to which the anchor can be securely held. Next place a chair, either facing towards or away from the door, and sit down in it. Grab hold of the Bodylastics handles and pull them down, either in front of you, behind your head, or out to your sides. All of these options will work various parts of your upper arm muscles.

Alternatively, you can remove the door achor and stand erect, stepping firmly down on the center of your Bodylastics bands. Then pull on the handles, either to your front or your sides, effectively simulating a barbell workout without need of any heavy equipment or such risk of injury.

Wrap the Bodylastics bands around your shoulder while you remain in a pushup position, grasping the handles in order to give you greater resistance than would otherwise be possible in a traditional push up. Or flip over onto your back and simulate an equally effective and powerful bench press regimen.
