The muscles you want to build to improve your golf swing with resistance bands are the biceps, triceps, abs, chest, and back. In other words, an appropriate resistance bands workout for golfers is a general upper body workout.

The biceps and triceps are the two primary upper arm muscles that work opposite each other to give your swing its strength. Likewise strong abs and chest work in opposition to the back to keep your stance firm and steady, holding your shoulder girdle in place to give your swing maximum smoothness and aim.

Biceps curls with resistance bands are easy. Simply step on the middle of the bands and hold the ends, either one in each hand or both in one hand, and curl your arm or arms up like you would with dumbbells. Add bands or shorten the length (gripping the bands lower down) to increase strength. Tricep curls are almost the same, except you reach back over your shoulders to hold the ends of the bands behind you and stretch them by lifting forward and up.

Using resistance bands for your chest is as simple as lying down on the bands, with them wrapped behind your back, holding the ends of the bands and pressing up in “front” of you as though you were bench pressing.

The only two resistance band exercises for improving your golf swing that require the help of another object (or person) are for the abs and back. If your resistance bands came with a door anchor secure it and then pull, but not with your arms. To strengthen the abs, hold the ends of the bands in tight to your belly and keep them there as you twist your torso away from the door to stretch the bands. For the back, position the door anchor at waist height, grip the ends and squat down with your arms extended in front of you, then pull back with your arms while remaining in the squatting position to stretch the bands and strengthen your back.

In short, strengthening your arms and torso is the way to improve your golf swing with resistance bands.

Resistance band workouts are best when they have a focus. There are several ways to design the ideal resistance band workouts for your needs, depending on what that focus is.

The first and most obvious focus for resistance band workouts is a particular muscle group. The most common are probably the simple breakdown of upper body workouts and lower body workouts, alternating between them each time you work out in order to get the best full body workout overall, with the one section resting, recovering, and rebuilding while you take the other through its paces. Other resistance band workouts that focus on specific muscle groups are: arms, back, shoulder, chest, waist/hips/buttocks, and legs.

Another way to design the optimal resistance band workouts for you is to focus on the activity for which you’re getting in shape. Runners, for example would do a different workout than swimmers, runners using the resistance bands to strengthen their legs and swimmers doing exercises to strengthen the arms and shoulder girdle. Both, of course, require endurance, which resistance band workouts can also provide. Likewise, football players who require full body strength would do different resistance band workout than basketball players who need to be toned and lithe. Both, of course require speed, which is also something resistance band workouts can help with. Speed and endurance, strength and toning – all of these qualities can be achieved using the same deceptively simple devices.

Resistance bands are not only among the most portable strength training products on the market, they’re also among the most versatile. There isn’t a muscle group on the body that you can’t get in shape with some kind of resistance band workouts.

You may already be familiar with the Bodylastics elastic resistance band exercise system, but now there is a Super Strong Man Edition.

The primary difference between the Super Strong Man Bands and the regular Bodylastics package is the addition of 2 extra bands, each providing 30 lbs. of resistance.

With the Bodylastics Bands Super Strong Man Edition, you have access to over 140 different gym exercises for working out every muscle in the body, with nearly limitless room for improvement thanks to the up to 254 pounds of resistance levels achievable with the system.
Train like a pro….Look like a pro!

The Super Strong Man Bands don’t just give you the tools to strengthen and tone every muscle in your body, but they come with complete instructions for doing so, in a nearly infinite number of ways. Each muscle group is supported by multiple exercises – from beginner to intermediate to advanced, some using the included door anchor, ankle straps, or additional props like a chair or giant rubber ball.

This allows each individual user to cater their unique Super Strong Man Bands workout program to their specific needs, circumstances, and abilities.

One of the greatest aspects of the Bodylastics Super Strong Man Bands system, in fact, is how incredibly easy it is to switch between different resistance levels. This makes it a breeze to work out in pairs or groups using a single set of Strong Man Bands, even if you and your workout partner(s) have different strengths and limitations.

Train like the Pros… by Bodylastics

In addition to all that comes with the regular Bodylastics system, the Bands Super Strong Man Edition also comes with a special travel bag and Diet Guide.

Number 81 himself endorses these versatile, lightweight exercise bands, which he reports is part of his regular training program and is responsible for helping him increase his speed and strength like no other exercise system he’s seen.

Each color-coded band represents a different resistance level (or “weight). Bands come with simple carabiner-style clips on each end for easy and secure attachment to handles, ankle straps, and a door anchor – allowing users to simulate pretty much any weight machine exercise they can do in a typical gym. Use bands by themselves or in combination in order to get just the right resistance level you need for each muscle being exercised.

The 76-page manual included with purchase (and corresponding SBU – Strength Band University – video website to which all TO Bands buyers are granted free access) provides an array of workout options that range in focus from:
• one’s strength and ability level
• to the specific muscle groups one is interested in working out
• to special regimens designed for athletes in certain sports (baseball, golf, tennis, bodybuilding, etc.)
• to programs specifically for toning or strengthening to circuit training workouts that incorporate both

Athletes like Terrel Owens aren’t the only ones using this system. Apparently the U.S. Military and S.W.A.T. team personnel also incorporate the Bodylastics TO Bands in with their training.

The TO Bands Super Strong Man Edition comes with everything included in the regular Bodylastics package, plus:
• 2 extra bands, worth 30 lbs. of extra resistance each
• a special TO travel bag
• the Terrell Owens Workout & Diet Guide.

TO Bands currently run for $99.81.

I have always been a big fan of resistance band workouts. They are flexible, versatile, and most of all they are portable and easy to use anywhere. You can pack them up and take them on the road or use them at the gym. I gained an even greater appreciation of them when I discovered the Bodylastics system because it takes only a very minor investment to create a complete home gym. With Bodylastics, you can perform your workout and then store it away and no one will even know that your humble abode is your workout room.

What do personal trainers use to train themselves? Click here to find out..

You can perform over 140 of the most popular exercises that you might do at the gym with the Bodylastics system. Wow! No wonder they are considered versatile. And the greatest thing is that there are detailed instructions included for men and women of any age or ability.

Bodylastics kits come in three tension weights and are very cost effective. A complete basic tension system that gives up to 44 pounds of resistance per side can be purchased for less than $50.00. That beginning system comes with five resistance bands, handles, ankle straps, door attachment, instruction manual and carrying case. When you have conquered the beginning system, the next Bodylastics kit is considered to be the max tension system. It has the same equipment, but the tension raises to 67 pounds per side. There is one more complete Bodylastics system known as the super strong man. With up to 127 pounds of resistance per side, I can’t imagine that anyone would ever outgrow its capabilities. Even if you purchase all three systems, you will have less than $200.00 invested in your fitness program.

The Bodylastics instruction manual is one of the best around. You can also watch programs on the Internet or purchase a DVD to help you workout.

The Bodylastics system has prepared workouts for your back, arms, chest, abs, legs and shoulders. They show you how to build muscle and tone up or how to prepare for a particular sport. The Bodylastics system is also a good tool when rehabilitating from an injury.

I can’t say enough about the Bodylastics system. I’m hooked. Give it a try – I bet you will get hooked too.

In 2001 the Bodylastics Circuit Training Program was developed in order to help users burn fat, lose weight, and tone up their bodies.

Lifetime gym workouts only 1 payment $50! Click Here to come see!

The basic premise of this workout is a combination of alternating resistance training with the Bodylastics bands and cardiovascular exercise of the user’s choosing in rapid succession, free of breaks or pauses between each. Done properly, a full Bodylastics circuit training workout should take all of 10 minutes.

To reiterate: unlike most other home gym workouts (including most other Bodylastics programs) the amount of time taken between each exercise, resistance and aerobic alike, must be kept to an absolute minimum in order to achieve maximum desired effects.

Before describing the Circuit Training workout in detail, there is one last tip you must keep in mind. Anytime you undergo a Circuit Training workout, you should always allow for:
• 5 minutes of warm-up time before starting, and
• 5 minutes cool-down time after completion

These can be in the form of:
• walking in place
• riding an exercise bike
• using a treadmill
• performing jumping jacks

This warm-up and cool-down time is essential in conditioning the body to most effectively and healthily integrating the benefits of the workout while minimizing the chances of strain, injury, cramping, or later stiffness and soreness.

The Circuit Training routine is comprised of 17 exercises:
• 9 Bodylastics exercises, broken up by
• 8 30-second cardio/aerobic sessions

This constitutes a single “circuit” which may then be repeated 1 or 2 more times, with the ultimate goal of being able to perform 3 complete circuits total with no breaks in-between and the most advanced of the listed cardio options for each 30-second aerobic set.

Those cardio/aerobic options are as follows:
• for Beginners: walking in place
• for Intermediate users: jogging in place or doing jumping jacks
• for Advanced users: jumping from side-to-side or forward and back with your feet together

With all that in mind, now, here is the format of a single Bodylastics Circuit Training Program “circuit” (along with the muscle groups benefited from each exercise):
1. Traditional Squat (upper legs)
2. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
3. Bent Over One-Arm Row (back)
4. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
5. Lunge (upper legs)
6. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
7. Standing One-Arm Triceps Extension (triceps/arms)
8. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
9. Standing Biceps Curl (biceps/arms)
10. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
11. Standing Lateral Raise (shoulders)
12. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
13. Resisted Pushup (chest)
14. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
15. Laying Back Extension (back/specif. the muscles bordering the spine)
16. 30-seconds cardio/aerobics
17. Crunch (abdominals)

You should be aiming for 15 reps per exercise.

Perform this Circuit Training routine 3-5 times each week and just watch how fast you reshape your body into the toned and sculpted design you’ve only ever dreamed of having.

One of the greatest benefits of the Bodylastics Circuit Training Program is that it supports the hectic lifestyle most people deal with nowadays, allowing for a full body workout, incorporating both strength training and cardiovascular exercise, in less time than it takes for a commercial break on TV.

Resistance band exercises are quickly replacing traditional free weights due to the facts that resistance band exercises offer smoother reps, less injury and more convenience to their free weight counterparts.

Bodylastics uses elastic tubes that create resistance when they’re stretched. Bowflex uses what it calls a “Compound Resistance System” with power rods that create resistance when they’re bent, like the way an archer pulls back on a bow to fire an arrow. Also like a bow and arrow, the Bowflex power rods are bent not directly by the hands but by a system of cables, wheels, and pulleys to which they’re connected.

The downside of the Bowflex system is the resistance is uneven (whereas you can adjust the level of resistance with the Bodylastics tubes), the fly wheel doesn’t turn smoothly, making for a rough and unsupported feeling while working out (whereas movement and control with the Bodylastics elastic tubes couldn’t be smoother and easier), and the Bowflex machine is big and heavy and takes up lots of space (whereas the Bodylastics sets are none of those things).

Platinum Crossbow also uses power rods like those of the Bowflex system. Therefore all of the differences listed above between Bodylastics and Bowflex apply to this comparison as well. There is no substitute for generating resistance by pulling directly against the source of resistance and not through a series of cables, flywheels, and pulleys.
